Having hiked the Escalante canyons a
lot before reading this book, I
found upon reading it that the book
seemed to match my memory of places
fairly exactly. That doesn't mean a
lot, so I took it with me on a few
of the more backcountry trips and
found it so extremely accurate and
useful that I am now using it as the
primary information source for some
trips to areas that are new to me in
the Escalante region. I'd definitely
recommend this book. |

| Photographing the Southwest: A Guide to the
Natural Landmarks of Southern Utah & Southwest Colorado |
 |
Average Customer Review:
based on 13 reviews
The photography as well as the reproduction quality
of the B&W images make these new guidebooks very unique.
Eleven photographers, all pros and advanced amateurs,
contributed their talent to illustrate the sites. |

| Rough Guide to Southwest USA 3 (Rough Guide
Travel Guides) |

The
Best Overall Guidebook to the
Southwest, October 30, 2004

I travel in the Southwest
frequently and have a diverse
collection of guidebooks to the
region. Rough Guide is my
favorite, with the intelligently
written descriptions and
opinions. The other guidebooks
are drier or shallower in
comparison (Moon, Lonely Planet,
Let's Go, DK, and Frommer's).

| Yellowecho.com Review: A personal favorite book---Don't
buy if you are looking for a guide for the big metropolitan cities.
This is a great book for the smaller towns and less traveled scenic
spots. |
