| Lincoln Memorial
- The white marble memorial, designed by Henry Bacon, was built in 1922.
A 19-foot seated statue of Lincoln is on display in the interior. The
Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Address are carved on the
walls of the memorial. Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech was
given from the memorial steps during the 1963 March of Washington. The
memorial is best visited at night. |
